Yes I do still exist; I think that is the correct term to use
I have been doing lots of things since I graduated in 54.  Lets see....  .I knocked around for a while looking for work but as probably several of you, I couldn't find anything so I decided to join the Air Force. That was Oct. 54...  Somehow I lucked out and got into the field of communications, which gave me the background for future careers.  I decided to make the A.F. a career so I stayed in for 23 years.  I spent 66, 68, and 70 in Southeast Asia (Vietnam).  After returning to the states I spent my last 7 years at Offutt A.F.B. at Omaha Neb.
(D) Jim Adcox 1993.
After high school he worked for DuPont for 19 years.  In 1974 he opened Adcox Trucking.  He had two sons, Jack and Brent, two daughters: Odellia & Francis and 3 step daughters: Charlotte, Tambra, and Phyllis.  He had 11 grandchildren.
(D) Ruby Alexander
She had lived in Baytown for 25 years.  She had a son, Kirk and a daughter Marsha.  She had one granddaughter, Jennifer.
After retiring from the A.F. in 1978 I returned to Channelview and started working for Schlumbarger as an Electronic Tech.  While there I started to pursue a degree as there were several better jobs available if I had one.  I started going to college in 79 on a part time basis and managed to graduate in Dec. 83.  The bad part of that was I got laid off in Oct 83.  Anyway here I have my paper, finally, and no job...  I put in applications everywhere with no results.
Finally I got a phone call for an interview.  This led to a teaching career that lasted until just a few years ago.  I was an electronics instructor at National Education Center.  Hargest College, ITT Education Center and finally San Jacinto College, N campus.  I lived at the same address as I had lived basically, ever since my folks moved to Channelview back in 1942.
My wife Connie and I have been married for 26 years now and have 4 young'uns our oldest son Mark is 31, (hers by previous marriage) our oldest Daughter is 30 (mine by previous marriage) our youngest daughter is 27(also hers) and finally OUR youngest son is now soon to be 25.  We have several Grandkids but no greats.
I retired a few years ago and we are now living in Amarillo.  We moved here about 3 years ago and to keep from dying of shear boredom.  I am a substitute teacher at the local school district.  Connie drives a School Bus for Amarillo.
I would surely like to be there for the reunion but my daughter is coming the 9th of June to visit with us.  She resides in Tennessee and it has been a long while since she has last visited us.  I don't want to miss that opportunity.  Keep in touch with me and perhaps I can make the next reunion if you have any more.
