Working with planning of the reunion this past year has been so much fun.  Makes the fun of the reunion even more exciting and keeping track of everyone is an added plus.  Now have 2 great granddaughters & a long awaited grandson (the only one).

Well how do you put 40 years in a little space?  I married my high school sweetheart, Joe Carter.  We had four wonderful children, 2 boys and 2 girls, Kenneth, David Wayne, Suezan, and Melinda.  They are all married and we have 4 beautiful granddaughters.  I know now why

Bob and I are still in Illinois. We are halfway between St. Louis Mo and Springfield, Ii. in the country near Beaver Dam State Park. The nearest town is Carlinville. We still enjoy deer and wild turkeys in our yard. Most neighbors are farmers. We enjoy gardening and watching things grow, but are not farmers. We have only 8 acres.  Not much for this area.
One of the highlights of our time here was being “Mom” to several students, and many foreign students from the local college.  I miss them now that they are back in their home countries,-Ghana, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Kenya, and several other countries.  I worked 17 years part- time at Christian Center. Was mostly a stay at home mom.  We lived in Pennsylvania three years in early 60’s. where Bob was a pastor. Bob retired ten years ago as chemist for Monterrey Coal Co. having been transferred to Carlinville by Exxon in 1970.
Bob and I married in 1958 and have two sons and four daughters.  From the six, we have only two grandchildren and one step-granddaughter.  Dale and wife, Dawn live in Champions area of Northwest Houston.  They have Sarah, 6, and Joshua, 4.  Cyndi and Randy, in Houston area, have our 15 yr old step-granddaughter, Amanda.  Cyndi has done camera for TV news. She was in plane crash few years ago
they call them grandchildren, for they are truly grand.  I have attended college, majoring in business and fine arts.  Heavy on creative writing, and I continue to do that.  I’ve written some short stories and am working on a book at this time.  Still attending U. of H., working on my other degree in Literature & Creative writing.  My secret desire is to have a book published.

I was divorced after 35 years of marriage and I am presently single.  I am the Accounting Supervisor for Briggs Eq. in Houston.  Am active in Unity Church of Christianity  and active on many committees & attending classes to become a facilitator.  I enjoy traveling and have been all over most of the United States, including Hawaii.  I also enjoy writing and my creative writing classes, playing racket ball and going to plays and dinner with friends. (The greatest is the bimonthly eating get togethers with all my classmates).  Looking forward to the next 30 or 40 years.

Went to California for Christmas with son, Dale & family.  Quite a trip with 5 adults and two children in RV.  First time to go west when not flying over.
We have wonderful friends here.  Midwesterners are great people, but my desire is to return to Texas to be closer to friends and family there.  (Never have gotten used to winters here.) Baytown has changed so much since we left almost 34 years ago. They tell me a Home Depot is on the spot where I grew up.
