I attended Lee College and Lamar University, obtaining a BS in Civil Engineering in ‘59. I then worked for Boeing in Seattle and Cape Canaveral, developing the Minute Man Missile. In ‘61 I moved to Austin and designed bridges for the TX Highway Dept. In ‘64 I moved to Victoria and built prestressed concrete beams for bridges. In ‘67 I moved back to Baytown and designed subdivisions for a small consulting firm. Two of these were Chaparral Village and Kings Bend. In ‘71, I went to work for the Port of

It has been a good life without many unexpected problems. The successes I’ve had would not have been possible without the good experiences I had with my many friends and teachers at R. E. Lee.
After high school, I worked for Houston Natural Gas, and rodeoed until Dec., 1955, when I was drafted into the US Army. Spent 16 months in Korea, 56 & 57. Married Peggy Gary Jan, 1959 and also went to work for J.M.Huber Corp. in Baytown the same year. Left Baytown in 1966. Moved to Lone Star, TX with Peggy and 6 kids. Stayed there nine months, moved to Rockdale, TX (1967) where I worked for Alcoa. In 1968 the last girl was born. We have 6 girls, and 1 boy, all doing well. We have 4 grandkids. Peggy and I
Every 5 years approximately the same group of classmates starts to plan and execute the work that goes into the reunion. We meet once a month for most of a year, beginning with Joy and I tracking you all down. (Please let on of us know if your address changes.) We have a wonderful time getting together and by now we each pretty well know our jobs.
Rodney and I have solved the dilemma of “what to do in retirement”. He lives in Crockett with his cows and I live in highlands near all the grandchildren. We visit back and forth and on all-important family events we are all together at “Granny’s” house.
2004: Married Barbara on Aug 31, 1996 at a motorcycle rally in Temple, TX. Barbara was raised and graduated from high school in Channelview, TX. She has one daughter-married with 3 girls and 1 son, married with 1 boy. Peggy and I had 7 children, 6 girls and 1 boy, so with Barbara’s 2 we have a total of 9 children and 15 grand children living with one deceased.
Barbara and I live about 3 miles east of Bandera, TX. We moved here in Jan., 2001. We have 2 horses, 2 goats, chickens and 2 tiny Yorkies. Our place is on 5 acres with 7 big Live Oak trees, other trees, lots of buildings and a workshop for me!
Slowed down in 2003 when I had bypass surgery but doing good now.
We really do love living here-Cowboy Capital of the World.
