Peggy Lehr Pollak 2910 Rivergrove Ct. Fort Worth, TX 76116 817-989-1504 plpollak@sbcglobal.net After high school I went to the University of Texas in Austin,, and then to UT in Galveston and became a Medical Technologist (1957) and a medical lab director in 2 years. I continued working and went back to school and completed my BS in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Houston. I married Joe Pollak in 1959. Joe is a chemical engineer, a graduate of Rice University and works for Exxon. I then went to graduate school in Psychology and received an Applied Clinical Psychology degree in 1971. I taught college and then went into private practice for several years. During this time I had 2 children, Carl (1962) and Amy (1965). I continued working, became involved with civic activities and became a ‘super mom’. We lived in Baytown because we wanted to live in a small town setting. I got tired of working 60-hour workweeks and took a leave from work. I started a career as an entrepreneur becoming owner of an entertainment center for children. I like that a lot. I sold that business, wheeled and dealt for a while and then started to law school (1986). I met my match academically for sure. I was in the top 25% of my class and at age 50, felt very lucky. While in law school I had some surgery and work up in medical hell. (Doctors bury their mistakes.) I had paralysis,

mega pain, was disfigured and my sight was affected. Many surgeries and $$ later I continued law school. I don’t like to give up on a project. During this time I had a bazaar fall, I guess. I have no memory of the event. I woke up sometime later in ICU. I was left with cerebral hemorrhage and skull fracture and residual problems. Folks, I sincerely do not recommend you try this!! After this event it was back to basics for me…walking, controlling mood swings and memory problems. At least

now if I make an ass of myself I just smile and say, “Please excuse me, I have brain damage”. During recovery time I kept feeling worse and found out I had a serious toxic poisoning with no known cure and with serious long-term effects. (Don’t worry, the story starts changing soon.) I got religion, I got books, and I got mad and started working to make a comeback. For a while I thought I needed to walk around with a Cross and Holy Water, since so many bazaar things had happened to me. Now , seven years later, I am on my final stage of getting well. I have started Hypebaric Oxygen Therapy Treatment for my head injury for two months. I feel great otherwise and am in the process of going back to work this year. I plan to start another business later this year. I am looking forward to becoming the Comeback Kid. Things are in place as soon as I complete this 2-month program. I am still married to my one and only sweetheart of 40 years. We moved to The Woodlands, TX in 1990. Moving from Baytown to The Woodlands was quite a cultural shock. We plan to move from here, more than likely to Fort Worth, where our children live with our One and Only Grandchild. He is 3 years old. My husband retired 3 years ago, so we have been traveling around the world for a while, but I am looking forward to returning to work again. I will have to figure out how to juggle my time with work and travel and I am looking forward to the challenge.(ED: Peggy's husband, Joe, passed away 9/15/05)

Jerry LeMay (Vesta) 2942 ‘Walnut Rd Sarepta, LA 71071 (318)994-2660 lemayjr@cmaaccess.com 2004: Shortly after graduation, I returned to Louisiana to attend Northeast Louisiana State. I later returned to Seguin to operate an Interior Decorating and Antique Shop. I was drafted in 1959 and served two years in the Army. After completed my tour, I decided that the Army was not what I wanted to do the rest of my life. I returned to Seguin and married Vesta Johnson, a wonderful helpmate, from Kerrville in 1961. After we were married we lived in Seguin and Abilene for a while. We owned a motel, trailer park and service station in New Braunfels for about four years, then decided that was not a place to raise three children. In 1967 we moved to Deer Park and I worked for Lubrizol for 10 years before we moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where our children could enjoy small town living. We had an Art Gallery and Antique Shop in Eureka Springs and later worked for "The Great Passion Play" for ten years. While living in Eureka Springs, I served as a minister for a church that was without a pastor. Vesta and I moved to Sarepta in 1991 to be closer to my parents. We have three children, Philip Shaun, Euvesta Michelle and Velma Renee. Our son gave us two wonderful grandchildren, our grandson-Colton Ryan is 4 years old and our granddaughter-Charlie Rae is 2 years old. We are very fortunate that Philip and his family live only a 1-1/2 miles from us so we get to see and be with the grandkids every day. They keep Vesta and I very busy. Our daughters live in

Francisco, and Lesley, an audiologist in the Seattle area); both went to UT in Austin, as did my father and my mother. Faye and I now live in Houston where we both work, Faye as the personal assistant to a couple in River Oaks and I as the senior principal engineer for a large international engineering company. Both my mother and father are dead; my mother died last year in Seattle at age 92. My sister (Virginia, REL class of 57) continues to live in the Seattle area where she is retiring this year after serving as a professor, department chairman, and Vice-President of Seattle University. After graduating from REL, I attended Rice (Institute at that time) where I earned an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering. I went to work as a process engineer for the equipment division of Petrolite for whom I did extensive international travel (Europe, Middle-East, Latin America and Asia) over two decades. While working for Petrolite, I was awarded six US patents and I published a dozen technical papers. I also worked for three years in Japan as a process engineer for Chiyoda, a large Japanese engineering company. Faye (whom I met in Disney Land while she was working for Delta Airlines) and I were married in Tokyo. We renewed our wedding vows five years ago at St. Paul’s in London for our 25th wedding anniversary. In addition to Tokyo, Faye and I have lived in The Hague and now in Houston where two major engineering offices of ABB Lummus are located and for whom I have worked for the last 15 years. Lummus is building a large petrochemical complex near Rio in Brazil and another near Shanghai in China in addition to an oil and gas production facility on Sakhalin (north of Japan). I expect to be back from Brazil in time for the 50th class reunion.

Most Saturdays in the fall find us at an Arkansas Razorback football game. We are looking forward to doing a lot of camping with the grandchildren this summer. God has blessed me with excellent health and a wonderful spouse. In November '05 we will celebrate 43rd anniversary I am looking forward to the 50th reunion. |

Mona Leslie Costley 715 Orion Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80906 (719) 630-7480 costley@adelphia.net My oh my well let’s see—Graduated from SMU June 3, 1957, got married on June 15, 1957 and started teaching at James Bowie Elementary in Baytown in September of 1957. Taught 3 years at James Bowie, then followed my spouse to Denver, CO to start a career in the Air Force. Before moving to Denver, son Les was born in Houston. After Denver we went to Spain where son Casey was born. Came back to the states for a few more years. Then went to the Panama Canal Zone where son Wade was born. We finally ended up in Colorado Springs and stayed. I was divorced in ’80 and started teaching at Skyway Elementary in ’81. From ’79 to ’88 the boys graduated from high school, college, and 2 got married. I now have 4 grandchildren – 3 girls and a boy. I retired from teaching last year. Since then I have been busy with volunteer work and enjoying not having to get up at the crack of dawn. Must say I still enjoy walking, reading and having a good time with one of our singles’ groups

here. Looking forward to the reunion. 2002 Update: Went back to teaching at my old school, Skyway, in 2001. I'm the Reading Tutor for 2nd and 3rd graders who are below grade level in reading. This was mad possible because of a Read to Achieve Grant from the State of Colorado. It's a two year position and one I dearly love. I don't have a classroom to worry with nor reports cards or bulletin boards!!! Teaching one on one is truly better than a classroom of 28! 2004 Update: Retired from teaching again in May, 2003. I had thoroughly enjoyed those 2 years back at my old school, Skyway Park Elementary. I'm now volunteering at Skyway doing the same job that I got paid to do. Is something a little wrong with this picture!!! I'm able to spend lots of time now out walking on the trails near my house. Of course right now we have a lot of snow and ice on the ground, so I'm limited to the old treadmill. Yuck! Much prefer the outdoors. I'm looking forward to the reunion in June. Hope to be there.
