2003: In 1954 I joined the Coast Guard. During the three years between the Coast Guard and being hired by the state I attended several colleges briefly and worked for short periods at several of the chemical plants along the ship channel.  In 1961 I was married to Glenda (Huwieler-RE Lee class of 61) and was hired as a Texas State Game Warden.  For the next 31 years I was stationed in various counties around the state retiring in 1992 as a Lt. Game Warden.  I have two sons Nelson, 39 and Ross, 36.  I also have two granddaughters Courtney, 12 and Shannon 1 ½.  I have enjoyed retirement and hunt, fish or golf on a daily basis.

In 1992 I retired from Houston Lighting and Power with 36 years service.  Since that time Ethyl, my wife of 39 years, and I have done a great deal of traveling. We have visited 5 states and Washington D.C.
Our family has grown up and has families and careers of their own. Our oldest daughter Kim, is the mother of our 3 grandchildren  All beautiful girls, Mandy 15, Amy 13, and Ashley 10.
Our 2nd daughter is married and a career girl.  She teaches at Lee College and is the ladies head volley ball coach.  She is a full-time member of the faculty.  We travel a lot with her and the Lee College Lady Rebel volleyball team.  Our son Lance is also a teacher-coach.  He coaches all sports in Cleburn, TX.
We are busy with our daily lives and working with the Highlands Church of Christ, where we have been members since 1955.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great time.  Thank you for all of your hard work in bringing this reunion together.

I graduated from Lee College in 1956 and from there went to University of Texas for a year.  While there I met a delightful young lady from Houston Milby, Carmen Littlefield, and married her in 1958. She put up with me through
med school, internship, and residency.  We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren.  After residency I practiced  Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Heights area of Houston until 1979 when I moved to the Boulder area in Colorado where I have been ever since.  I can't seem to find the right time to quit and am still in near full time practice. ED: Norman died of a stroke.  He delivered more than 12,000 babies during more than 40 years of pratice  in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

We have retired and are living in the Hill Country west of Austin.  We have 4 ‘wonderful’ grandchildren who keep us mighty busy!
2004 Update:  We are still living in the Hill Country west of Austin. We now have seven grandchildren. The oldest, a boy, is eight years old. The other six are girls ranging in age from six to one. in Music Ed in ’62.  During this time I married Ted Couillard from Vermont.  We had 3 children, Beth in ’61, John in ’63 and Caroline in ’66.  He pursued a PhD in English Lit. at Colorado Univ. and received that in ’67.   We moved to Michigan and Washington State during the next few years and we divorced in ’69.  I took the children and went back to Colorado, first teaching in Genoa for three years, and then to Silverton, Colorado where I reside now.  Here I have worked as an electrician helper in a mine, clerk, and part-time cook, but love living here in the mountains year round.  I remarried in ’77 to Jerry Sandell.  He is still working for a company that will be reclaiming a mill site in Silverton and we hope to retire there this fall.
