I quit working at a paying job in 2000. For the last three years I have been helping to take care of family. Now that responsible is over I have started several projects.  I am scanning all of the family pictures on to CD's, designing a movie of family reunion pictures from 1954 through last year and taking sewing classes.
I enjoy taking trips like the ones I took to England and to Williamsbury, VA.  I go on day trips just to see something different from Seabook.

In 1954 attended business school.  Went to work for Pan American Airlines.  From there  flew with Braniff Airways, 1961.  After that got married-got a divorce - no children, thank goodness. Moved to California with the company where I was employed, Western Gillette, in 1963.  Have been working in the trucking industry ever since.  We had only one child and she passed away when she was only 7 years old.  My husband had one daughter by a previous marriage.  She was a joy for me.  She is married with two children, so I am a grandma after all.
2003: After 38 years or working I decided to get out of the rat race in 1996, and live the life of leisure.  My husband still worked so we could not move from the Whittier location that we had lived in for 15 years.  In 1999, though he decided to "hang it up", too. Get this - I

wanted to live either at the Ocean or on the Desert.  Ocean front property is very expensive so we decided on the Desert......We currently reside in Palm Desert, Ca.  That is 25 miles east of Palm Springs.  It's hot hot hot, but we love it. We are in a Del Webb Retirement Community
The two grand children are grown.  Our Grandson goes to California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, Ca and our Granddaughter goes to Mississippi St., Jackson, Ms.
Retirement has been wonderful, it should begin earlier.  We run and play alot - result - gained weight, but we only pass this way once so why not enjoy it.
Hoping to see all of you next year, but not making promises right now.
God Bless everyone and keep each of you safe.
2004: Just a short note.  Sorry, but I can’t make the 50th reunion. It’s been a good life and we are living out our “Golden Years” in a gated community in the Desert that is gorgeous.  We love it more each day.  My best to all of you.  Bless everyone and keep on “keeping on”.
