Upon graduation, joined the Marines and was assigned to the Far East. After returning to the US, went to Lee College and finished at UT in ‘61 with a chemical engineering degree.
During college days, Edna [lst wife, class of ‘54] and I had two daughters. My professional career included relocations, US and foreign travel, and several companies as I moved up the corporate ladder in the energy industry. Divorced in ‘86 and remarried in ’87 [Barbara], and retired in ’98.
We then started looking seriously for a retirement area [knew lots of places I did not want to live] and finally did some “never do things”: move from CA in ’00, to a smaller city [Prescott, AZ  40,000]’01, colder winters, and build a

house. Our home site is in a planned community [Yavapai Hills at 5400feet +] on a hillside. This presented challenges during and after construction. The views are great, seasons do change, and wild critters abound. However, deer and Javelina are a problem for landscaping. We enjoy retirement and stay busy with bookstores, neighbors, club activities, local events, plus occasional trips to Phoenix area shopping.
We plan a spring trip to N. California to visit our daughters and later to England. Daughters have their own careers: the eldest is an animal communicator [“Horse Whisper” kind of thing] and the youngest is a literary agent. Both along with husbands do their share of US and foreign travel. No grandchildren however, we do have a new puppy which is almost like having a child. Happy 50th reunion to all of you.

Married Edward Trchalek Sept.4,1954.  He is the brother of Shirley Trchalek Newton, so she's my sweet sister-in-law.  Ed was drafted into the Army in 1955, so we lived in El Paso, TX for 2 yrs. I worked in a bank during our time there.  We enjoyed taking our visitors to Juarez-shopping, going to Cloudcroft, NM, and White Sands, NM.  We were so homesick, we drove all night getting back to Baytown.  Ed resumed work at HL&P Co. and I became stay at home Mom to our 3 sons--David, Gary, and Daryl.  Ed later went to work for Diamond Shamrock, now named

We have 6 wonderful Grandchildren--Jennifer, Collin, Kaden, Camron, Emily, and Danny.  We lead a pretty quiet, simple life--just enjoying our families & also our "Church Family" at Pruett & Lobit Church of Christ where we married 50 yrs. ago.  We've traveled to several States, but really contented to just stay at home.  Our health is good, I try to keep my diabetes under control.  Ed probably needs knee surgery, but won't slow down long enough for that.  We're looking forward to the class reunion.  A big THANK YOU to all who spend so much time planning it!!

2004: We lived in Channelview until 1986, then moved to East Texas piney woods, following hubby's early retirement from Arco. We have 2 children and 6 grandchildren.  After being suitcase cowboys for several years, we were going to be that full time!  and we are, I suppose.  I have worked at various secretarial/clerical jobs, kept house, raised kids, gone to church, and sometimes played ranch-hand.  Howver I'm getting a little old for that last role.  We have been blessed with good health, and I'm still doing all the same things, except the kids are taking pretty good care of themselves now.
