Sandra Sheley Hale  7525 Brompton  Houston, TX 77025  (713) 663-7463
On Aug. 24, 1988, I married Hale.  After 34 years, in the summer of ‘88, and through shrewd detective work, he located me about 8 miles from his house.  We completed a romance that began in Marshall High school (Marshall, TX) in 1952.  I had taken an early retirement from teaching in 1987 and he had also just prior to that.  We bought a travel trailer and keep those wheels rolling about six months of the year.  We’ve toured every state except Hawaii, including 2 months in Alaska; also Canada (From Nova Scotia to British Columbia), much of Mexico, Guatemala and Europe.  Our favorite Hobby?? You guessed it. (Ed: 8/14/02 Sandra is single again.)
Eleanor Sirmons White  1426 Shadow Bend,  Houston, TX 77043-4128  (713) 464-7158  eleanorswhite@comcast.net
The past 45 years: Attended University of Texas.  Married and worked in all the areas we were transferred to-Houston, Beaumont, Philadelphia, PA, Baton Rouge, LA.  Lived in Arlington,
TX for 12 years (where I did work outside my home) and was very active in service work. Junior Women’s Club, Arlington Junior League, Arlington Woman’s Club, racquet clubs (tennis and racquet ball), golf clubs, Bible Study, Fort Worth Book Review Club, and being a teacher’s aid once my child began school.  My son and I moved back to Houston in 1978 where I began my career at Rowan Companies, Inc. (an offshore drilling company).  Recently I was promoted to personnel Administrator, where I look forward to retiring in the next 3 years.  My son was the
(D) Gerald Sherman (*Shirley) 12/8/07
Married high school sweetheart Shirley Stepelton in Sept 1954.  We have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.  We lived and worked in Houston for several years and then built our home (in Wallisville) and moved back to the Baytown area in 1961.  We worked in Perth, Australia for 2 years.  When we returned I went to work for USX in Baytown.  When they closed the plant there, we transferred to Birmingham, Al with USX where we will be until retirement in 1997.  Then we will move back home to Wallisville.  Hope to see everyone in 1999!

2002 Update: I'm married to Shirley Stepleton also class of 54. We are retired and living in Wallisville, Tx. We have 7 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. They are the joys of our life.
first family member to step out of our family’s trend at the University of Texas, and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Political Science.  He and his wife live in San Jose, CA (in the Silicon Valley just south of San Francisco) and that’s good cause for a trip to California.
2004 Update:  As of January 2003 I have been retired from Rowan Companies, the offshore drilling company where I worked for 25 years.  I now have a little dog (a Bichon) and “Buddy” is truly my little buddy.  My son, Darren, wife & two children, live in Coppell, TX (Dallas suburb), and I am proud to be “Grammy” to them.  Dallas is just a good day trip to watch my 4-year-old grandson ice skate and take hockey lessons.  Darren holds my little 18-month-old granddaughter to sit on the toes of his skates and “ride”.  I keep in touch with my company and still travel with them occasionally (on company planes) to attend special events;  and will attend a christening of a new drilling rig this month.  Typical of our 1954 bunch, I stay involved in service work with a very active Bible Study Class at Second Baptist Church.  That’s the way we all were raised.  “Stay with it!  Don’t give up on life, and never give in to tribulation”.  My memories of high school are about how dedicated and loyal we all were to our school and our families, and how the City supported us.  We thought we led everything - the best athletics, best band, choir, coaches, cheerleaders, etc.  No other band had a trumpet player like Jessie Duarte playing “the Dull Razor Blues”, and oh, how that fired us up at a ball game.  And no other organization was like The Lee Bngadiers.  But what other institution of teaming had a “Quack Shack”!!  Now that brings back memories!  Once we were off at college we never again met men who could dance like our Baytown guys at the Quack Shack.  Best dancers in the world!!
William Sherman (Linda) 38 Meadow Brook, Trophy Club, TX 76262  817-491-0153 maclin@flash.net
After leaving Lee, I graduated twice from Baylor and married Linda Gayle Graham from Rockdale.  Linda and I both retired from the public schools in teaching and administration.  We have lived in Victoria, Waco and Midland since leaving college.
We have 2 daughters, Kim and Kristy and 4 granddaughters with another one on the way.  Also, we have 2 sons-in-law named Randy.
Since retiring, Linda and I have moved to Burleson and have been traveling a little, attempting to complete old projects, and taking care of the grandkids now and then.  Someone said that we’d have more time when we retired—where is it?  In addition, I sell real estate for Century 21 on Main Street in Burleson.
We live in a beautiful home on an acre with over 300 oak trees and a bunch of squirrels.  Truly, we are blessed by God every Day.  Life is wonderful.
