Updated 2004: After high school went to work for Houston Power & Light Co. and attended Lee College.  In 1956 joined the Army and was stationed in El Paso for the next two years.  After getting out of the Army. I went into
retail sales as store manager from El Paso to Port Arthur. While working in San Antonio as a manager of Singer Co. made a trip to Del Rio where I met my wife Janet Wipff and married one year later.  We have two daughters Tammy and Kim and four grandchildren (two girls and two boys).  They all live in Del Rio so we have lots of fun at family get-togethers. Went to work for my father-in-law in the Furniture and Appliance business, where I was manager.  Now we own and operate this same business
“NOT a grocery store as earlier reported on my bio.
I have lived in Del Rio for over 35 years and we really like it here.  Prior to 1989 developed renal disease and in 1989 had to go on dialysis for three years.  Then received a kidney transplant in May1993.
We have enjoyed traveling and have been to Hawaii (two different times), Yugoslavia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Acapulco and Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.  We are still looking forward to more trips.
I’m looking forward to our 50th reunion and seeing the “old gang” again.

Still married to Charles (44+years).  His battle with cancer and recovery from chemo took all of ’97 and ’98.  He is now doing well.  We have four children and eight beautiful grandchildren.  I still have my counseling practice.  Also, have added a ‘pretend job’ as and antique dealer—couldn’t justify collecting any more unless I sold some of it.  Now I have the perfect excuse to shop and buy! a visit.
2002:  I am retired. Putting a lot of miles on the motorhome and enjoying every mile. We have 2 greatgrand children now.
2003:I am still married to the same one that I married in 1955.  We had four children.  They have given us six wonderful grandchildren.  Roger is attending East Texas Baptist University,  Mitch is attending Lee College,  Sam and Jamie are Seniors here in Anahuac, and Katie is a Sophomore here in Anahuac.  Karla our oldest granddaughter is married and has two children.  Our great grandchildren are Cheyenne and Noah.  We love being with our grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They really keep us going.  We still have one mobile home park.  The motorhome is getting a lot of miles put on it.  We like to go to airshows.  In our younger days we lived in several different States as we followed Oscar's job.  We finally settled down in South Texas and I guess that is where we will stay.  We have had good times and bad times during our life but much more good than bad.  The years have gone by so quickly.  I don't. know if I will attend the reunion are not but will surely try.  I think of my classmates often.

We will always remember Eddie as one of our best athletes.  He was a star lineman on the 1952 Gander football team that reached the state finals before losing to Lubbock.  He was all-district in 1953.  He was on the earliest of the Gander mile relay teams that set both state and national schoolboy records.  He entered Texas A&M in the fall of 1954 and interrupted a promising college track
store, owned a grooming shop, raised and shown dogs in the show ring, went to Lee College, did bookkeeping and taxes, state certified as water and waste water operator and consultant for the same, owned rent property, real estate, worked for a doctor until moving to San Augustine where I now raise parrots, congers and parakeets and hope to resume painting as soon as the aviaries and this house are completed.   Since graduation I’ve had a very busy and interesting life.  I can honestly say I have “gone to the dogs”, gotten “all wet”, been in a sewage ditch”, seen a lot of “dirty laundry”, and now have a “bird brain” with hopes of “painting the town red” --and THAT SUMS IT ALL UP!!!!!!!!!!
