Update 2009:  My husband Dennis and I continue to enjoy retirement in Baton Rouge.  I retired from teaching in 1988 and was involved with taking care of my mother and Dennis' parents in the 1990's.  Dennis worked at LSU from 1965 until 2001 in various positions.  He retired as vice Chancellor at LSU AG Center - Facility Planning, in 2001.  My teaching career in Crowley (nine years) while at LSU Rice Station, were some of my favorite years.  The Cajuns were and still are wonderful, humorous people.  Two of our daughters graduated from high school there.  Upon our return to Baton Rouge in 1979, I worked at a new private school just being created and eventually became grades 7-12 principal.  Our daughter Cinda and husband with their daughter Ellen, live in Los Angeles, California; Charlotte and her husband with their three sons lived in Baton Rouge for thirteen years and recently moved to Tennessee; our daughter Cheryl and her husband also have three boys (in Jr.High and High School) and live in Baton Rouge.  Our oldest grandson is a junior at LS.
It is going to be our 50th anniversary on June 28, 2009.  Life has been the best of the best since I married Dennis in 1959.  Hope it is a good reunion.
My favorite memory of REL:  being in the choir with Mr. Seale and surviving Jane Mitchum in Senior English.

Humble/Exxon Marketing Dept. in Houston and Baytown in 1958. Married Georgia (Tinker) in 1959, we have 3 daughters, Lynann, Debbie, & Dyane, who have given us 9 grandchildren to spend lots of time and fun with. I retired from Exxon in 1990, and Tinker retired from Harris County in 1995. We sold out
I taught/coached at Bryan, Burnet, Groesbeck, Mexia, Hayes Consolidate in Buda and retired from Caldwell ISD after fourteen years there.  Coaching assignments in middle school and high school included, football, basketball, track, swimming and golf.  I was fortunate to coach three invitational state swimming championships at Burnett and also had district championships in middle school football, basketball and track.
Other assignments included government, history, one-act plays, debate and related speech events.
One of the outstanding things about coaching is being able to be in contact with some of the really great coaches around the state. Some of these included Bobby Sheldon at Hayes, Ray Frady at Burnet, and Bobby Goforth at Caldwell, who played for Galena Park against Lee.  At many of the coaching schools around the state I also had the  privilege of meeting some of the real great great coaches of Texas,  including Pete Sultis and Beverly Rocco of Lee High School, and Gorgon Woods and Morris Southall of Brownwood.  I was a friend for many years to Lovette Hill, baseball and football coach at UofH.  While at Burnett, I worked with Rex Robertson, the first swimming coach for UT.  He provided the expertise and I got the credit for Burnett's invitational state swimming championships.
Currently I live on twelve acres in the county near Bryan.  As some of you know, my wife passed away in 2007.  My mom who will be 95 this year, lives with me.  One of the most enjoyable events of my life was to meet some of the athletes in the 1996  Olympic games which I worked with my brother.  I now have much in common and many memories of the old pink high school.  I could continue...after all it has been 55 years, but it is time to stop.  I hope to attend the next reunion and I am sure you will have much to tell me of your journey to 2009.
in Baytown and moved to the ranch in Weldon, a community just outside of Lovelady. Do a little traveling in the Motor home, but spend most of my time back at the ranch with the cows. We are enjoying retirement very much, just doing what we want to do. Hoping to see everyone at the next reunion, and if you are up this way come by to stay a spell or sit a spell whatever you decide you want to do. We would love to have you.
2009; Can't make reunion. Celebrating our 50th anniversary with a Cruise!.
